I Smell A HBO Boxing Rematch between Oscar and Floyd
Oscar de la Hoya has been in boxing news recently for all the wrong reasons. Who knows how many fans he lost when his cross dressing pictures surfaced. But in a possible attempt to re-prove his manhood the Golden Boy camp said that they have chosen who his next bout will be against. This boxing news spread as soon as Mayweather defeated Hatton. Oscar has made a tradition of only fighting on May 5 every single year. With May somewhat around the corner, talks about who he will face are surely in the works.
But who will be fighting? Here are the facts:
- The Mayweather/De La Hoya fight was the highest profiting fight in the history of the sport.
- He lost that fight and wants revenge.
- Oscar and Mayweather enjoy huge paydays.
When HBO boxing formerly releases this fight there is going to be a huge media frenzy. Mayweather has to fight again. The people won't let him just fade away into boxing history and who better to fight in 2008 then De La Hoya, who he has already beaten.
